How does one go about dating on the internet especially for a male (my brother) who has recently been taken to the cleaners by his soon to be ex-wife. Are there any truly free sites out there? What does one look out for? Any help appreciated!

There is this thing called EHarmony for all ages. Google it.
im not 40 yet (but close) i’ve dated on line before. i’d be really careful with that; its easy to get caught up in it and easy to be lied to. its also very easy to get to know someone quickly.
i just tried to contact people locally. it didnt work out for me, but good luck to u.
the best totally free dating site is

Try to go on actwall.com – it’s free social network and dating site.
I think that site deserve some attentions.
You can create profile, search for people and even have a blog there.
bummer
I am over 40 and the best way to meet people is face to face. On line one can be or say anything. It does not matter if you are 16 or 66 dating is never easy and the first dates are the worst but the more you do it the better it gets and he should go slow as he is just getting his freedom so why not enjoy it.
Go to any chatroom.
My advice is for him to focus on rebuilding his life. He’s in his 40s. There are plenty of young women out there, but if he isn’t confident, has divorce problems, isn’t mentally all there, it’ll be noticeable. If what he wants is quantity, there are plenty of sites, if he wants quality, he should volunteer his time some where that’ll put him in direct contact with quality women doing the same common thing he’s doing. Good luck.
Other than that, to answer your question, try fling.com.
There are dozens of websites out there and while there are many that are free there are many that are free for certain things but, not for everything. I’ve tried Eharmony and it is joke! They put you thru a long questionnaire and it doesn’t do anything for you and it is quite aggravating.
If he uses dating websites, what website(s) he uses should largely depend on what type of girl your brother wants to find. I hate to say it like this but if someone just wants a fling they shouldn’t go to a website that pushes real relationships, romance, etc. And if a person wants a real relationship then they shouldn’t go to a website that pushes anything but that! The links that I have there below are just options. Tell him to try a chat room first & ask ppl there one to one what they think. But, not Yahoo… that’s all SPAM!
