Is it too late for singles over 40 to marry and have kids?

Is it too late for singles over 40 to marry and have kids? Should there be laws banning middle aged singles 40 and over from getting married?

marriage is for young people to produce offspring, period.

Old people can’t have kids- so why do they want to marry?
The BIBLE cites THE reason to marry as having children.

Can you really find love online?

imageBut how common is it to meet your mate through online dating sites? Well, the statistics are in and for those who enjoy the excitement of singles chat rooms and online dating, the news is good. Great, in fact. Half – you read right, half – of all America’s 40 million singles use online dating to meet people and at least one in five of those find long-term romance that way. When you think about it, those are pretty good odds. And as the world of online dating expands, it becomes more and more common to meet your partner in cyberspace, we can expect that figure to grow. As the doom and gloom of the economy sadly sends many businesses into closure, online dating businesses are flourishing. Love never goes out of style. There’s a wealth of reasons why looking for love online beats singles bars. For a start, people hooking into the romantic cyber-world are generally open to a relationship, and not looking for some quick thrills. They’re usually serious about their quest for love. And then there’s the way chatting on the web can fast-track a relationship. It can strip away the superficialities of appearance and reveal the real person. Don’t just take our word for it, a survey by Britain’s The Sunday Times proved the point, saying “that email relationships can be far more intimate than normal dating.” By the time you make it to that crucial first date, you already have a sense of who this person is. What interests them. What they want out of life. And because we’ve already looked at our potential mate’s profile online, then the chances are we’re interested in exactly the same things. And, more importantly, want the same things. In short, in the world of cyber-dating, we’re being attracted to someone for the right reasons. Sure, a cute photo helps, but it’s the important stuff – the stuff that keeps couples together – that we find out about before we even meet. And when the first date happens, it’s more likely to go smoothly. We’ve already been chatting to our potential Mr or Ms Right, so the first date is often the real world extension of a relationship that’s already formed and growing into a romance. Online dating has been one of the biggest success stories of the world wide web. And the reason why is pretty simple: it works. People do find love online – in ever increasing numbers.

Single Supplements – What to Look Out for

imageYou’ve decided that going solo on a cruise is for you, but aren’t sure how much extra you’ll have to pay for sole use of a cabin. It can be a bit of a minefield, so let us give you the low down on who offers the best deals for single cruisers.

Carrying The Swing

For over 40 years there has been a musical conversation between Bristol and Jamaica. Caribbean immigrants brought their music with them when they first settled in the St Pauls area of Bristol during the 60s. The dialogue of cultures continues today in trip-hop, jungle, drum’n'bass and dancehall style. This unique documentary traces the links and interviews some of the key players in the exchange. It covers the early days of “blues” parties in private houses in the 60s, the rivalry of the first sound systems (Trojan, High Priest and Tarzan) and the set-up of clubs like Ajax. Pay-day was Thursday. So party-time began on Thursday night and went through three nights to Sunday. Roni Size recalls listening to Prince Buster and Studio One recordings as a kid, and following sounds like Shaka International. Miles Johnson (Dugout pioneer) and Tricky now live in New York but reminisce about hearing Dennis Brown and Scratch Perry. The St Pauls Carnival would highlight visiting Jamaican musical talent. Ray Mighty and Roni Size have created studios which support the music in the way that King Jammy does in Jamaica. And Bristol-evolved styles like jungle have been imported back into Jamaica and influenced co-operatives like Main Street Crew to edge reggae in new directions. Commentary by Treva Etienne.

Why do young women never attend singles parties or events?

I was going to attend a singles dance today, but I contacted the place where it is being hosted and they said nearly everyone there is over 40 every week! This got me to thinking, online dating, singles dances, dating agencies; why do young women never go to any of these? Don’t they want to meet guys? They pack into malls and clubs and blow off anyone who talks to them. How am I supposed to meet a girl my own age?
